am looking for feedback on question 1 of write to learn. Specifically I would like feedback on the length of this response. I feel like when I am reading it I can't tell if it's not in depth enough or too in depth. I don't believe I am missing any of the steps of the scientific method in my response, but I would like to know if anything could be added to improve the response. Thanks!
1. Outline the scientific method and describe each of the steps.
A process called the scientific method helps us to understand and advance our scientific knowledge. To start the scientific method, we need a theory. A theory is your reasoning and ideas to explain why a certain phenomenon is occurring. Theories are often too complicated to be tested at one time, which is why we need a hypothesis. A hypothesis is a testable assumption that is made with limited evidence which prompts further investigation. Once you have a strong hypothesis you must put it to the test by conducting experiments and collecting data. The collected data needs to be critically analyzed to see if it supports the hypothesis. If the data doesn't support the hypothesis, you must modify your theory and hypothesis, and repeat the process. If the data does support your theory and hypothesis, then you can confirm your theory.
