Ama runs a company, 'Tark Industries', that manufactures military equipment. She has invited interested parties to the unveiling of her latest invention, 'Robo Grunt', an automated soldier. Owing to the negligence of one of Ama's employees, Keyon, who had forgotten to put the 'Robo Grunt' into 'safe mode' before bringing it to the presentation, the machine starts shooting at the audience after it is activated. It is quickly deactivated, but not before it has shot several members of the audience.

Yomi, a chauffeur for one of the guests, is sitting in his limousine in the car park situated 100 metres from the main stage. He has a view of what is occurring and starts panicking in case the machine starts shooting at him. Yomi's psychiatrist later diagnoses him with an acute anxiety disorder triggered by the event, and he is forced to take early retirement.

Uju is present at the event with her girlfriend, Angela, with whom she is besotted. Uju needs to visit the toilet and returns to the arena just after the shooting ends. Uju manages to find Angela amidst the chaos. Angela has been shot and dies in Uju's arms twenty minutes later. As a result of what she witnesses Uju is diagnosed with acute pathological grief syndrome.

Kofi is shot but survives. Six weeks later he is shopping with his daughter, Zendaya, when he suddenly collapses and dies before her. It is later discovered that one of Kofi's arteries, which had been weakened by the shooting, had burst open whilst he was shopping. Zendaya is diagnosed with acute depression triggered by witnessing her father's sudden death.

Cleopatra, an employee of 'Tark Industries', had been given the task of remotely turning the 'Robo Grunt' on at the presentation. She is now racked with remorse at what happened and is diagnosed with a morbid guilt complex.

Yomi, Uju, Zendaya and Cleopatra now seek your advice upon whether they may be able to seek compensation in a negligence claim against 'Tark Industries' in respect of the medically recognised psychiatric harm they are now suffering with.
