Based on its ability in both metallurgy and wire process development and the result of over a decade of effort, Amborne Alloy had developed a copper alloy.r wire that was cadmium free (cadmium was a known carcinogen affecting both processing and disposal), but also met the characteristics that defined a high performance wire and matched the standards of PD135, the cadmium-containing industry standard made by Phelps Dodge. The product family was called lCadfree and priced at $29 per pound.
