ame and sav to desktop. Be sure at wn select P For each phase of the experiment clearly identify the following items in your write-up: 1. The independent and dependent variables 2. The null and alternative hypothesis 3. Describe the data (mean, SD, sample size, other relevant info) 4. Identify the statistic used and WHY you choose it (and why you didn't choose another statistic instead) 5. Describe the PSPP table by providing statistic (t-score, F, Chi Square, R) and Sig. (which is the p value) 6. From statistics, draw conclusions (what is the data showing support to; reject or retain null-how did you come to that result) We live in a culture where there always seems to be a new approach to lose weight...from the carb-less and liquid diets to new exercise program promised to help individuals lose pounds and inches. Recently, there has been some support that people can lose weight with a pedometer-based program where individuals slowly increase their daily step count to 10,000. A weight loss researcher is interested in this new approach and wants to see if it is effective at promoting weight loss. For phase one of the study, the researcher had 20 people participate in this study. The researcher recruited overweight participants who averaged 2000-3000 steps per day. The researcher gave each participant a pedometer and asked them each to increase their daily step count to 5,000 by the end of week one and to 10,000 by the end of week five. The researchers took the participants weight at week one and at the end of week 16. Is there a difference in their weight from the pre and post-test? What conclusions can you draw?
