This theory implies that leadership is exclusive to a select few and cannot be developed or learned (Perrin, C. (2010). Reasoning: The Great Man Theory lacks validity in today's understanding of leadership, which emphasizes the importance of skills, behaviors, and situational factors in effective leadership. Research has shown that leadership is not solely determined by innate traits but is also influenced by environmental factors, experiences, and learning opportunities. Additionally, the Great Man Theory overlooks the potential for anyone to become a leader through self-awareness, development, and practice.
