Amy Williamson and Rory Pont were well-known travelling artists. In 1998 they designed and installed theJust Staring Collectionin the Blue Box Gardens in Brisbane. The collection consists of seven (7) very ugly free-standing statues of angels and painting on a garden wall of eight (8) other equally ugly angels (the statues are located in front of the painting.) these art works are significant as they were modelled on the Blue's only winning football team of the last 20 years. The gardens are open on weekends and anyone may enter. Amy and Rory regretfully died three years ago while in a far-off land and their daughter Brooke Tune, who is also their sole executor and heir, visits the statues every Saturday in memory of her parents.
Dave Temmant a well-known developer bought the gardens in late 2010 to redevelop but due to a downturn in the property marker has continued to operate them as gardens. Since 2012 he has charged a small entry fee to help with costs. Dave recently obtained planning approval to redevelop the gardens. Last Friday afternoon bulldozers started work and on Saturday morning Brooke discovered the statues and painting had construction fence around them, which had a sign on it stating, "Keep clear - Scheduled for demolition on Wednesday".Brooked tried to contact Dave over the weekend but he did not answer her telephone calls.
On Monday morning Brooke is waiting at your office. She wants to know:
(a)Can she stop the deconstruction of theJust Staring Collection?
(b)Would it be possible to have the painting listed on the Queensland Heritage Register?
