AN 107 Time Team Writing Exercise

Time Team was a long running television program in England which has a strong tradition of managing their cultural heritage which dates from the Stone Age up to the historic time period. Your assignment includes watching one of the Time Team episodes listed. While watching the episode determine how the archaeologists addressed the questions listed below and provide your answers in a brief write up about the episode. The write up can be from 2-3 double spaced pages", but make sure to use size 12 times new roman font with 1-inch margins. This will be uploaded to the Assignments section of eCampus (remember eCampus only accepts .doc and .pdf files).

-How was the site identified and then surveyed, where did they know where to look?

-What strategy did they take to understand the site, and did they change during the survey, and why?

-What features were found and identified? What did these mean for the site?

-How did the site get dated? Explain how the archaeologists knew.

-How does the site fit in its landscape? Why may have people been there instead of somewhere else?

-Did the archaeologists engage in any kind of experimental archaeology?

-What did they learn about life at the site, behaviors, status, gender, and/or cultural identity?
