AN ELECTRONIC RECORDS AND INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

One of the objectives of this course is that participants will evaluate records and information systems and make recommendations for improvement. Students are therefore required to relate what they have studied about an Electronic Records and Information Management system / Business Intelligence System / Content Management System to that of an organization.

Identify an (any)organization with which to work in order to complete this project.

The following guidelines are not exhaustive but should only serve as a guide:

Identify and describe the equipment, software, media, input methods used in the system.

Discuss how the organization deals with various electronic records issues, eg. indexing, retrieval, access, security, retention, etc.

Discuss the strengths, and weaknesses (if any) of the system.

Prepare a list of recommendations you would make for the improvement of the

system.
