An employee terminated for violating a company policy threatened to sue the company for wrongful termination. The policy that the employee violated was the company's password disclosure policy, which stated that any person that discloses a password, number, or code was in breach of security protocols, and would result in termination. Here is the situation: The employee had left the country to attend a conference overseas. Before he left he had been working on a proposal that had to be turned in on a specific date. The date fell on a day when he would be attending the overseas conference. The employee failed to forward the proposal to the company Vice President before he left. He called his assistant and gave his assistant his password so they could log into his computer and email the proposal to the VP. For your original post-state whether you believe that the company was right to terminate the employee.
