1. You are hiring a new office manager, and you have 3 qualified candidates with impressive experience and references. Your boss, the CEO, tells you he wants something for his wife to do and says it will be "worth your while" if you hire his wife instead of the other 3 candidates. The wife is nowhere near as qualified as the others but might perform OK. Which decision do you make as the HR director?

2. You hired a new financial analyst last year, and he has been a big help to the company. At a social gathering, he tells his coworkers that he lied on his resume about his education and experience. Word comes around to you, the HR director, and you are concerned about his ability to perform at his job and his morality. You question what else he would lie about or do to cause the company harm. What is your next step in assessing this dilemma?

3. You strongly believe that your boss, the CEO, is engaged in a sexual relationship with an individual from the accounting department. Both individuals are married, and the relationship is a risk to their marriages, the office culture, and perhaps your job if not handled appropriately. As many coworkers begin to notice, the decision falls on you to either confront the two or remain oblivious. How would you handle the situation?
