Assume there is only one set of surgery resources available 60 hours a week (i.e. one surgeon, one OR room, one anesthesiologist, and one OR nursing team). There is also a single inpatient room available for 24x7 = 168 hours per week. The hospital's revenue for a laparoscopic surgery is $18K, the revenue for an open surgery is $15K.
