An Operating System (OS) is an interface between a computer user and computer hardware. An OS performs all the basic tasks, like file management, memory management, process management, and the control of peripheral devices (printers). Some of the most common operating systems are Microsoft Windows, Linux, and macOS. Examples of operating systems for mobile devices include Android or iOS.
