The president of a faculty association of an SCU in Mindanao received an invitation from the national PASUC President to attend a national general assembly in Cebu together with the SUC President, two Vice Presidents, and the Director for Research. The SUC President has received the same copy of the invitation which requires five participants from every SUC. When the faculty President forwarded his request for official travel recommended by his immediate supervisor, the request was disapproved by the SUC President. The faculty President thus submitted a leave of absence on forced leave recommended by the Immediate Supervisor but it was also disapproved. Despite the disapproval of the two requests, the faculty President attended the General Assembly after obtaining an authorization from the faculty association to attend the assembly with all the expanses to be assumed by the association. The assembly was to be held on January 27 to 29, 2021 and classes will start on January 15, 2021. Upon return from travel, the faculty President received a memorandum directing her to explain within 72 hours why no administrative action shall be instituted against her for having been absent on January 26 to 30, 2021 without approved vacation for leave.
