Analyzing the Business Case
Red Star College is a private school. They have an outdated IT system, which was implemented in 1995. For example, the colleges student database, class scheduling, registration system, HR, and all other systems were in separate buildings and on different operating systems. The graduated students records system is still paper-based (manual). The school has no centralized IT management system. Plus, the colleges website and social network are all very old and do not meet the needs of the current students and faculty. Therefore, one problem is the miss-calculation of the student grades (wrong transcripts) and very slow response to transcript requests.
