Andrew is the sole director and shareholder of a company which deals in properties in Hong Kong. Andrew, told his friend Martin, exaggerated stories about his stock purchase and sales experiences and the large amount of investments and gains he has made. Martin, who has just inherited a large sum of money, asked Andrew as to which stock he should invest in. Andrew knowing about Martin's financial status said that he should invest heavily in stock number 111, as the "price of the stock would increase three times in the next 6 months". Martin used half of the inheritance money and invested in stock number 111.
A week later Martin heard on the investment channel of the radio about another stock, stock number 444, which was being favoured by the stock specialists that week. He then used the rest of the inheritance money and invested in stock number 444.
Two weeks later, the financial crisis in the US occurred and stock markets worldwide dropped dramatically. Martin loss almost all of his money.
