to make senior associate this year. She is an excellent lawyer. She is often

praised for her diligence and keen attention to detail. She has however been in

a difficult relationship with her long-time partner Sam. In the last 6 months he

has grown increasingly jealous of her success at work especially as his career

has not been going too well. He has even been violent to her on a few

occasions. It has been impacting her performance at work. She has missed a

few crucial deadlines recently. She now has decided she will take some leave.

2. (a) Anna needs advice on what category of leave she is entitled to

apply for under the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth). Advise Anna (7.5 marks)

Anna has come back from her leave she is still a bit shaken by her home life

but she carries on. One day, she yelled at her assistant for getting a date wrong

on an important legal document. The assistant said to Anna "I did not do it, I am

sure I checked." Anna yelled back "you lying cow!".
