Anne was in a local pub with her fianc, Ben, and her friends, Carl and Elisha, discussing her wedding plans. The following events took place:

(a) Ivan, Anne's jealous ex-boyfriend, walked towards Ben shaking his fists and exclaiming, "You'll marry her over my dead body!" When Ivan got close Ben pushed him to the ground and shouted, "Anne's mine forever, you loser." Ivan quickly jumped up and punched Ben on the nose, knocking him out.

(b) As Carl and Elisha were leaving the bar, Ivan followed them and pulled out a toy gun from his pocket and aimed it at each of them. Carl laughed but Elisha thought it was a real gun, collapsed and fainted, banging her head.

(c) Whilst waiting for an ambulance, Carl carried Elisha, who was still unconscious, to the pub's storeroom. On seeing this, Ivan locked the storeroom door. Carl tried to attract Ivan's attention by shouting and banging on the door, but Ivan ignored him.

(d) Later that evening, Ivan called Fiona, Carl's pregnant girlfriend, who lives some distance away, and told her that Carl had been beaten up and badly injured by the doorman in the pub after he was found harassing women customers. Fiona took the news very seriously and suffered a miscarriage and a mental breakdown.

Advise Ivan as to his liabilities in tort.
