Annotated Bibliography For this assignment, you will write an MLA-style annotated bibliography with at least six sources. These sources must all be related to James Baldwin’s story “Sonny’s Blues.” The purpose of an annotated bibliography is to aid research. An annotated bibliography is a list of secondary sources with detailed descriptions for each source. You will use this list as a resource when it comes time to write your research paper (which you will begin working on in the last module for the course.) Your Annotated Bibliography must include MLA-style bibliographical entries for six secondary sources. All of these sources must come either from GALILEO, the EGSC library or from Google Scholar. 

All of your sources must come from either published books or from peer-reviewed journals. You may not use sources from the general web. Each entry should be followed by an annotation (three to five sentences) that summarizes the article’s main argument and in what way the article will be useful to you in your research paper. Your annotations should be written in standard edited English. You should be very careful to avoid plagiarism in your annotations. (For an understanding of what information should be contained in the annotation, carefully read the sample annotation that I have put on D2L.) This is not a difficult assignment, but it is definitely a time-consuming assignment. 

DO NOT wait until the last minute to begin working on it. Use the following as a checklist of things to do in order to complete the annotated bibliography: 

1) After you’ve read and studied “Sonny’s Blues,” come up with a rough thesis (this will be the main idea of your research paper). 

2) Once you have a rough idea of what your thesis is, begin doing your research. Search GALILEO, Google Scholar, or the library for scholarly sources that are somehow related to the argument that you will make in your research paper.
