Annotated Bibliography Purpose:

Writing an annotated bibliography is excellent preparation for a research paper or project. Therefore, writing an annotated bibliography can help us gain a good perspective on what is being said about a particular topic. By reading and responding to a variety of sources on a topic, we'll start to see what the issues are, what people are arguing about, and we'll then be able to develop our own point of view.

An annotation is a summary and/or evaluation. Therefore, an annotated bibliography includes a summary and/or evaluation of each of the sources. For the purpose of this written assignment, please

: 1. Select an ethical topic you are interested in.

2. Use a reputable search engine or library source (e.g., NC Library, Google Scholar, etc.) to locate 3 peer reviewed articles that are published within the last 5 years.

3. Provide an annotated bibliography for each of the articles

please ensure you complete the followings:

i. Summarize: What is / are the point(s) of this article? What are the main arguments? What topic(s)s are covered? (Hint: Basically, it is if someone asked what this article is about, what would you say? Please paraphrase and do NOT copy the abstracts

ii. Assess: After summarizing, it may be helpful to evaluate it. Is it a useful source? Is the information reliable? Is this source biased or objective? You may write something like: this article is helpful because the authors offers concise definitions and do not assume the readers already know them prior to reading it.

iii. Reflect: Once you've summarized and assessed the article, you need to ask how it fits into your current understanding of the topic matter. How does it help you shape your current comprehension of the subject? How can you use this article in your other courses, or in clinical practice? Has it changed how you think about your topic
