Answer each discuss in IRAC format

After consuming a few beers with his friends at a local bar, Daryll comes home to find his wife Melody in bed with another man. Incensed, Daryll grabs the gun he (unwisely) keeps loaded in his bedside table, turns and shoots at the man. Daryll misses him, but the bullet travels out the window and hits Edith who is outside walking her dog. Edith goes into a coma, and eleven months later she dies.

Horrified by what he has done, Daryll drops the gun and runs away. He runs for several miles and stops when he reaches a farm - owned by Farmer Hoggett - just outside of town. Daryll spies a barn and decides to hide inside. Unbeknownst to Daryll, Farmer Hoggett had recently set up several traps to prevent people from entering the barn (Farmer Hoggett keeps his prize-winning pig Babe inside the barn). When Daryll opened the barn door, it set off a bear trap which closes on his leg, severing an artery, and Daryll bleeds to death.

Melody learns of Daryll's death several days later and contacts an attorney to bring a wrongful death action against Farmer Hoggett. They ask for $50,000,000. Daryll was 50 years-old and made $100,000 per year; Farmer Hoggett was barely getting by.

Discuss:

Under common law, is Daryll guilty of murdering Edith?

Under common law, is Daryll guilty of manslaughter?

Is Farmer Hoggett liable for Daryll's death?

Is Melody's request for $50,000,000 a reasonable calculation of damages?
