You need to hire a sales representative. You place an ad on LinkedIn. The ad includes the following information:

Successful applicants will meet the following requirements:

o Hold at least a college diploma

o Have at least two years of relevant sales experience

o Will be able to work every weekend

o Are healthy and physically fit

o Are Canadian citizens

1. Based ONLY upon these facts, which act/statute/legislation does your job ad violate and why? (2 marks)

2. Identify the protected grounds your job ad violates (3 marks)

3. Jade, an observant Catholic, applies hoping that she can negotiate not to work Sundays so she can go to mass. Does she have to tell you during the hiring process? (1 mark)

4. You hire Jameel. A week later Jameel fractures his elbow and is unable to use a computer or carry or lift heavy objects. How can you modify his job to allow him to continue working notwithstanding his disability (2 marks)

5. Explain why you have a legal obligation to modify Jameel's job (2 marks)

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY LAW (3 MARKS)

In Assignment #1 you included a logo for your company. Some of you created your own logo and some of you copied a logo from an existing company. But each of you receive a letter from a company that thinks you copied their logo demanding that you stop using their logo.

1. Which type of intellectual property are they alleging you violated? (1 mark)

2. From a legal perspective, explain why you have or have not violated their intellectual property. (2 marks)

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS (2 MARKS)

Each partner must identify the following:

Ques- A change you can make in your everyday life that would contribute to sustainable living/meeting a sustainable development goal (2 marks per student)

o Your answer is NOT about the business you've imagined. Instead, this is about how you, right now, in your current role as a student, as an employee, as a member of your community can act more sustainably and meet an SDG

o Your answer should identify:

1. The change you can make in your everyday life; and

2. The sustainable development goal that your change furthers/meets

o Please note, you may not use the examples I give in class. You must come up with your own idea
