Ameriprise's home-based employees' new updated phones system is the focus for our post implementation review project. Ameriprise is updating their Cisco hardware phones from Cisco VoIP phones 7962 to the updated Cisco VoIP phones 8811. The project implementation requires reprograming on all the phones on Cisco call manager and adding 802.1X authentication to the phones to secure the phone lines.

As mentioned, Ameriprise's primary product and services are providing clients with financial advising solutions for their money management issues and or goals. Ameriprise's financial services also includes educating their clients about what should be their priorities and
advising clients on where to invest, retirement funds, real estate, insurance, personal finance, and so much more. 1.8 Customers & Constituencies
The customers of Ameriprise consist of individuals everyday people who are looking to retire and invest their money. Much of their cliental list includes small business owners, to individual people, and finally to larger company. One of Ameriprise largest account holder is Columbia thread Needle and American Express. 1.9 Information System Project
The information systems project that we will be focusing on is Ameriprise updating their Cisco phones system from Cisco VoIP phones 7962 to the Cisco VoIP phones 8811. Ameriprise must deploy all the new phones first to their home users firstly. Reprograming the new phones on Cisco call manger and using 802.1X authentication to protect the phones are is going to be the focal point of our IT implementation post review project. The end results will be to compare the home users new experience to those who still have the previous phone systems to see if Ameriprise should continue to invest and support the new Cisco phone hardware and replace all the old phone systems in all their office locations as well. 1.10 Information System (COTS)
All the products such as call manager, VoIP phones, and 802.1x authentication were not developed in house and is commercially available Off-The-Shelf (COTS). Cisco is the vendor supports and licensed the mentioned above products. All of the products were purchased as an installed package and implemented by the IT network team. 1.11 Business Process
The business process that is being supported is the new phone system updates, reprogramming technology, and adding more security features to secure the phone lines. All these new improvements will ensure Ameriprise communication functionality stays in place.
2.2. Threats The first threat Ameriprise Financial faces technology developments; this is a threat because a customer can be attracted to this new technology, leading to losing consumers and decreasing their market share. The second threat Ameriprise Financial faces are new entrants because numerous players work in the financial field. Numerous players put Ameriprise Financial at risk of losing customers to these new entrants. The third threat the firm faces is the exchange rate; exchange rate keeps fluctuating, affecting Ameriprise because it has sales internationally. The last threat Ameriprise faces is that consumers' tastes can change, and that can put pressure on Ameriprise to continually canister products to meet its consumers' needs.
2.3. Current and Future for the Firm Ameriprise financial services LLC currently uses the Cisco application for their phones. Ameriprise Financial's future is using Cisco applications for their web conferencing, especially during covid because most of their clients cannot come into the office.
2.4. Benefits
The Cisco application's competitive benefits are session management, voice, video, messaging, mobility, web conferencing, licensing software, and endpoint that fit their business. The other benefit is that it is easy to use, and it is also easy for any firm and organization, and IT person to use. 2.5. Lesson for Organizations
The lesson that can be learned is that Cisco collaboration infrastructure helps bring people together anytime, anywhere, on any device with the single architecture for every voice, video, and data. That application can be used from anywhere like from the office to home, and it is also available on smartphones. With Cisco Collaboration Infrastructure, everyone receives that same high-quality experience on any device, including partners, customers, and remote experts. Also, with the Cisco application, everything integrates seamlessly with people, applications, and endpoints. This application accommodates up to 80 000 users.
So far, we have learned from this project that they replaced the company's old Cisco legacy hardware with their new Cisco Meraki devices which are cloud bases. The new devices are more secure and are cloud based so offer employees to have remote access. They also replaced the old Cisco 7962 phones to the Cisco 8811 phones. The result of the project made users happy as it improved their internet speed tremendously. Everything became more efficient and reliable than before.
