Answer the following three questions.

1.This question is worth 10 points. Identify which intentional torts Adam committed and use fact(s) from the problem to support your answer.(Hint: there are potentially five intentional torts committed in this fact pattern.)

Adam decided to play a practical joke on Linda, a co-worker. As Linda was leaving the office one night, Adam, wearing a mask, stepped out from behind some bushes. He pointed a handgun made out of licorice at her and demanded her purse. He then pushed the candy gun to her head and told her if she told anybody he'd kill her. Linda was very scared during the whole incident. She did not think it was funny when Adam pulled the mask off and took a bite out of the gun as he gave her the purse back.

2.Ryder (a company that leases truck fleets to businesses) leased a truck to Florida Food Service (FFS). Powers, an employee of FFS, drove it to make deliveries. He noticed that the door strap used to close the rear door was frayed, and he asked Ryder to fix it. Ryder failed to do so in spite of numerous requests. The strap broke, and Powers replaced it with a nylon rope. Later, when Powers was attempting to close the rear door, the nylon rope broke and he fell, sustaining severe injuries to his neck and back. He sued Ryder. The trial court found that Powers' attachment of the replacement rope was a superseding cause, relieving Ryder of any liability, and granted summary judgment for Ryder. Powers appealed. Is Ryder liable to Powers for his injuries?

3.Penny, a potential client of the accounting firm of ADAMS BAKER & CLINE (ABC), arrived at the firm's offices for a consultation meeting with one of the partners. Penny, who had traveled a good distance for the meeting, asked the receptionist, Jane, where the restroom was located. Jane pointed in the general direction of the restroom and began giving directions, but was interrupted. Penny (understandably in a hurry) rushed in the direction of the restroom but missed the door which was clearly marked "RESTROOM." At the end of the hallway she noticed a sign on a door which said "EMPLOYEES ONLY." Hoping the relief of a restroom awaited her on the other side of the door, Penny went through it only to find the firm's filing room. A precariously placed, balanced, and overstuffed cardboard file box sat atop a set of shelves near the door. When Penny opened the "EMPLOYEES ONLY"-marked door, the door's movement disturbed the box, causing it to fall upon Penny, breaking her nose and bruising her face. Once a potential client, Penny now becomes a plaintiff, suing ABC. Is ABC liable to Penny for her injuries?
