Supplier Tender (continued...) Despite the policies and procedures that were put in place (Question 2.2 in the Formative Assignment), the supplier where the Minister's daughter works was chosen. As a member of the evaluation panel that had to appoint the supplier, you are very distressed by the selection because you know that you and the other panel members wanted to appoint a different supplier. You have also heard rumours that the Chairman of the panel received a generous donation, after the appointment, from the Minister. You have two options available to you: stay quiet or blow the whistle. 2.2 Assume that you were recently made aware of the unethical behaviour at the company. The only way to force the company to change is to let the local community know what has happened during the tender process. Explain whether you would be able to go to the local newspaper to expose the company. Discuss the steps you would follow to "blow the whistle" and justify your decision by using the ethical decision-making tool, according to Rossouw and van Vuuren (2017; Chapter 13). (10) 2.3 Discuss whether your decision in Question2.2 would be different if you could financially benefit from not exposing the company. Support your answer with reasons. (3)
