Any organization/department in which you work will have projects to complete. To manage projects, a project lead usually utilizes tools to track and analyze the steps and tasks within the project. A Gantt chart is a visual tool to plot tasks and show the duration of the project tasks (start and stop dates) and overlapping tasks (tasks that can be performed at the same time). It is a scheduling tool. It also includes who is responsible for the task. In an HIM Department, new billing or coding software may be needed. How would a team lead the department through the process of researching software, installing the software, training the staff, phasing out the old software? Which other departments might be affected by this change?

It would be too overwhelming for you to develop a Gantt chart for a project in an HIM Department, but I want you to understand Gantt charts as they are used in the workforce. So for this project, develop a Gantt chart for a plan you will use to study for the RHIT exam.
