Apparatus and personnel are significant considerations in pre-planning as well as the assignment of resources during the onset of an incident. These considerations not only include types of apparatus but the quantity, abilities, training, and qualifications of personnel. For this journal, you will write command overview that contains a compilation of a written description, organizational chart, and examination of your organization. Your overview should include, at a minimum, the information below. Identify the name and geographic location of your organization. Include a brief description of the type of community you serve (e.g., rural, city, mostly residential, commercial, industrial). Identify the duties of each level of personnel identified in your chart. Identify the resource availability to include department apparatus as well as mutual and/or automatic aid agreements. Identify the standard procedure and assignments for various incident types involving fire to include low-risk, medium-risk, and high-risk events. Discuss the incident command system and structure used by your department. Identify standard reports used by your organization in incident command.
