Apparatus To conduct the freefall experiment, the Photogate insiJument is a timing device that measures times between events that interrupt a beam before another event occurs. The photogate is a general sensor used to measure speeds, accelerations, and periods of moving objects. The photogate works by projecting an infrared beam to a sensor, when the beam is bloclred the sensor stops sending a signal which triggers the data collection software. The photogate is connected to the digital adapter which is connected to the USE PASCD Link into the Laptop to transfer the data. The Laptop provided a visual representation of the data which was collected by the photogate. After each trial the data is collected, the Laptop then uploads the measurements of time and velocities and converts the information onto a graph and a table
