Applied Research Paper Research is about creating scientific knowledge that contributes towards the knowledge economy to sustain humankind for years to come. Basic research creates new knowledge and increases the scientific understanding of the world, whereas applied research solves specific policy problems to assist practitioners in the changing workplace. It cannot be one or the other, basic and applied research often complement each other by creating new knowledge that is applicable in the working environment (De Vos, Strydom, Fouch \& Delport, 2013, p. 94-95). For the applied research paper, each student is required to identify issues hindering organisational transformation and institutionalising change in the corporate entity/organisation he/she is affiliated with. And formulate a researchable topic for the applied research paper. The overall aim of the applied research paper is to provide a solution to the problem identified, and must comply with the following requirements: * Title: not more than 15 words. * Word count: 3000-5000 words all-inclusive of tables, graphs, figures, and reference lists. * Abstract: 150-200 words that include the purpose of the paper, methodology, findings, practical implications, and originality of research. * Keywords: 5-6 keywords. * The body of the paper should include an introduction and background to the paper, literature, methodology, results and discussion, recommendations, and conclusion ending with references (APA referencing style).
