It cannot be one or the other, basic and applied research often complement each other by creating new knowledge that is applicable in the working environment (De Vos, Strydom, Fouch \& Delport, 2013, p. 94-95). For the applied research paper, each student is required to identify issues hindering organisational transformation and institutionalising change in the corporate entity/organisation he/she is affiliated with. And formulate a researchable topic for the applied research paper. The overall aim of the applied research paper is to provide a solution to the problem identified, and must comply with the following requirements: * Title: not more than 15 words. * Word count: 3000-5000 words all-inclusive of tables, graphs, figures, and reference lists. * Abstract: 150-200 words that include the purpose of the paper, methodology, findings, practical implications, and originality of research. * Keywords: 5-6 keywords. * The body of the paper should include an introduction and background to the paper, literature, methodology, results and discussion, recommendations, and conclusion ending with references (APA referencing style).
