Describe how the information on your genogram, ecomap and critical event timeline each contribute to an understanding of the "presenting problem(s)", family functioning, risk factors, family dynamics, etc. that need to be addressed in your case study family. In other words, describe how/what the various tools inform your assessment of this family(3)

Rosa Del Sol (age 35): Rosa had both parents in the picture and has experienced some physical and verbal abuse from her parents and by her ex-partner Jim. Jim is the biological father to Christopher. She has finished high school and stays at home but she wants a job to help with bills. She previously worked full time at the Bank and now wants to work at a garden shop part time. She feels a strain in the relationship and has remarked that "war is on." She feels like Miguel is more of a child than a dad. She is determined to make the home not an abusive home, she has demonstrated a willingness to go out of her way to educate herself and acquire more skills to better her marriage and family situation.

Miguel Del Sol (age 37): Miguel had a single mother raising him and an absent biological father. His stepdad Ken, who has been in the picture since he was 10 years old suffers from alcoholism and they have a bad relationship as a result. Miguel has a family history of alcohol and abuse as well. Left school early and was in the "wrong crowd" being involved in drugs and alcohol. Absent father due to being away, working. Feels like problems between Rosa and him will "solve on their own." Miguel is a hard worker and tries to provide for family. Does not want to parent.

Both Parents: Homeowners and have backgrounds in abuse and alcohol. Having relationship issues. Don't know about ADD and how to handle christopher.

Christopher Del Sol (age 9):Has been diagnosed with ADD and displayed antisocial and aggressive behaviours at school. He has not made friends but loves sports. Christopher is having difficulties with school and is currently taking Ritalin to help with the ADD. He is socially isolated from his peers. However, he loves to swim, play football and ride his bike. Chris' biological father has not been involved since he was 2 years old, and before that was abusive towards his mother.

Teresa Del Sol (age 3): Complains of Stomach Aches. Talkative, and friendly. Asks about dad and asks if he is mad. Both Teresa and Tina, having trouble sleeping. Gets upset when Miguel comes home.

Tina Del Sol (age 18 months): Allows Teresa to do all the talking.
