Are the following statements true?

1. It is a waste of bytes to send a FLAG-byte at the end of each frame and repeat it again at the beginning of the next frame. Instead of FLAG-FLAG transmission, we could just use one flag marker and save a whopping 8-bits.

2. The CRC check bits are always at the end of the frame or packet in almost all protocols. Instead, all other control information is typically at the beginning of the frame in the header. The arrangement does not make any sense in itself and the CRC check bits could also be placed at the beginning of the frame.
