Question: How would I make an example out of my area of interest?

-Name a variable in your area of interest that you feel would have a small standard deviation and a variable that would have a large standard deviation. Explain why.

-As a simple example in education, which is my area of interest, I have seen through research that Kindergartners vary quite a bit (high standard deviation) in their vocabulary. Some factors that may influence a young child's vocabulary before he/she enters Kindergarten are how much parents speak to them (working versus stay-at-home) and if they attended a preschool. However by 5th grade, the variability in vocabulary decreases due to school bringing everyone to the same level based on the standardized state curriculum.
