ARTICLE II UNION MEMBERSHIP AND EMPLOYER RIGHTS The right to employ and discharge for just cause shall be vested solely in the Employer. Nothing herein shall be construed as stipulating the number of employees to be employed by any building; provided, however, that the Employer shall not reduce the number of employees without prior written ten-day notice to the Union. The Employer agrees not to discriminate against members of the Union or to engage in unfair labor practices. On or after the thirtieth (30th) day following the beginning of employment, or the effective date of this Agreement, or the execution date of this Agreement, whichever is later, every employee subject to the terms of this Agreement shall, as a condition of employment, become and remain a member of the Union paying the periodic dues and initial fees uniformly required, or, in the alternative, shall, as a condition of employment, pay a fee in the amount of periodic dues and initial fees uniformly required as a condition of acquiring or retaining membership, or, if the employee objects to the payment of that fee, such employee shall, as a condition of employment, pay that portion of the fee related to representation costs
