As a gender- and racially-diverse team, design a heat transfer method to vaporize 10L of seawater as quickly as possible without boiling. The idea is to condense the vapor to obtain safe drinking water, although this exercise shall be reserved as the assignment for the next cohort. Your method of vaporization must include the use of freelyavailable solar (available 8h per day), and the cost of construction materials should not exceed RM 200. The price of vaporization shall be based on grid electricity price (RM 100 per kWh ), steam/heating source originating from burning (RM 100 per 3600kJ ), CO2 emission (RM 500 per kg RO2 ), and man-hour (RM 100 per h taken for the vaporization process). Your specific tasks are as follows: a. Sketch and explain conceptually your design. As a team, it is your role to bounce off ideas and ensure that everyone has the same level of comprehension. Prove that the price of your construction materials is below RM 200. (4 marks) b. Put in place the heat transfer calculations to describe your design/method. Calculate the energy and time taken to fully vaporize the seawater, as well as the price of your vaporization process. ( 8 marks) c. Prepare a half- to one-page individual learning report to reflect what you have learnt technically and how you have contributed to and benefited from a good teamwork. The learning report is your individual reflection on the learning process and does not need to be shared with members. ( 8 marks)
