As a leader in several areas of life, it is critically important that I carefully analyze my leadership and make any necessary adjustments that would benefit myself and those around me. My actions should set the pace and model for others to follow. Action research living theory can play a significant role as a powerful tool in promoting the necessary improvement in my actions and leadership. This can contribute to enhanced practice and the generation of knowledge. When living theory works in conjunction with action research, then the impact becomes even greater. As an educator a major part of my job is to engage in constant reflection. This can be in the form of reflection on my performance during a lesson, the effectiveness of the lesson, my students' response, my strengths and weaknesses, and others. Action research theory, as stated by ACE (2023), can lead to improvement in my performance, the organization, and other aspects of life. Apart from self-reflection, I rely on feedback from those around me such as my administrators, my students, my coworkers, and even my two children. These individuals all help to provide me with the insight I need to clearly see my strengths and weaknesses. For action research living theory to be successful in promoting change, this must occur under conditions such as exercising ownership, receiving time to reflect on the process of change and being given the tools to encourage my own development (Hampshire, 2000). with citations
