As an intervening agent in Puerto Rico, whether from justice agencies such as the police, an official from the Department of the Family such as a social worker, the Department of Health or any other public or private agency concerned with intrafamiliar violence and Gender-based violence (GBV) establish the appropriate intervention method on a family with a son trying to solve the crisis based on the definitions, objectives and purposes of the laws "Law 246 of December 16, 2011. Law for the Safety, Well-being and Protection of Minors" (accessible at: https://www.lexjuris.com/revista/opcion1/2012/Detengamos%20el%20maltrato%20a%20los%20menores.htm); "Law 54 of August 15, 1989. Law for the prevention with domestic violence" (accessible at: https://fundacionalasalamujer.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/aalm-rev1-l54.pdf) and "Law no. 408 of 2000. Mental Health Law of Puerto Rico" (accessible at: https://poderjudicial.pr/educacion-a-la-comunidad/informacion-sobres-temas-legales/problematicas-sociales-comunes/salud-mental/ #:~:text=La%20Ley%20N%C3%BAm., alguna%20condici%C3%B3n%20de%20salud%20mental.); as well as the intervention protocols and remedies provided by the three laws. 6. Conclude by recommending actions to minimize the wave of violence in Puerto Rico and suggesting possible mechanisms to ensure these legislations are complied with.
