As future teachers, we need practice in writing instructional objectives if we are to design lessons that involve students in more complex processes such as problem-solving and critical thinking. Decide on a typical lesson that you are likely to teach (you can focus on a theme, topic, work, etc.). Examples may include social studies - the cause of the Civil War; mathematics - solving for variables; health - nutrition and the new food pyramid; physical education - skills for playing volleyball; language Arts - To Kill a Mockingbird, Plants, Animals, etc. Choose an instructive objective at your choice of grade level/ topic. Then write one question from each of Blooms 6 cognitive levels to address the objective. Bloom's Taxonomy. Remembering, Understanding, Applying, Analyzing, Evaluating, and Creating. Also, state which level domains in Webb Depth of Knowledge (DOK) you would see each question.
