As of the end of the fiscal period under audit, the auditor will request a special kind of confirmation, or written representation, from the client's attorney(s). Obtaining this representation

A. should be done if time permits.

B. can be done at an interim date.

C. is a generally accepted auditing procedure.

D. is a good idea, but entirely up to the judgement of the auditor.
