As part of an education program initiative, Cleveland High was chosen to participate in the evaluation a new algebra and geometry curriculum. In recent years, Cleveland High has earned a score consistent with the national average on standardized tests. Last year, a cohort of eighty- six Cleveland High sophomores was randomly selected to enrolled in an special set of courses that integrated algebra and geometry. The tests scores of those students averaged on the SAT-I math was 502. Nationwide, seniors averaged 494 with a standard deviation 124. Can we claim that at the a level of significance that the new curriculum had an effect?
