As principal one of your major responsibilities is to be aware of the culture on your campus among your staff. In order to maintain a high level of staff climate and culture, you have decided to search for funds outside the district that can help raise the level of camaraderie among your faculty. A local grocery company has just established a $5,000 grant for area schools. You have decided to apply for the grant. As the principal, you are tasked with developing the plan, which you will submit to the company for consideration. Prior to submitting the grant, you must establish the following:

• Identify the need for the initiative you will implement through grant funds
• Hold stakeholder meeting, conduct a survey, etc. to gather input regarding the initiative
• Gather data for application/proposal
• Prepare a one to two-page executive summary to share with school and stakeholders how funding, if secured, will be implemented to support culture and climate. Include an overview of the need and result of the stakeholder meeting.

The company stipulates that the following information should be included in the maximum two page executive summary of the plan:

1. Basic campus information including demographics, grades served, etc.
2. Culture building initiative
3. How it will be designed and conducted
4. When it will begin/end
5. Reason for implementing this initiative
6. How it relates to standards supported by the National Staff Development Council
7. Person(s) responsible for the program Budget Outcome(s)

Before beginning this task, please review the "Supplemental Reading" posted in this course, which provides numerous links to PASL resources. Because your coursework in the program is intended to prepare you for success on PASL, it is important that you understand the standards by which PASL will be scored.

The document you submit will be ONLY the executive summary reflecting the information gathered and described in items 1-7 above.

Please remember to proofread work before submitting, as significant typos, grammatical errors, etc. will interfere with the clarity of your work and result in a score below mastery level; repeated unsuccessful attempts on any performance task will jeopardize your continued participation in the iteachTEXAS program.
