As product-marketing manager of Ananta LLC, one of your jobs is to prepare recommendations
to the Executive Committee as to how much budget should be allocated to advertising (referred
to as AdBudget). Your product sells for $40 and costs you $25 to produce.
In addition to production costs, Anantas product-marketing managers must take into account the
cost of the salesforce (the amount of money they invest on salesforce referred to as
CostSalesForce), the amount spent on advertising itself (referred to as AdBudget), and overhead
costs (typically around %15 of total revenues).
Clearly, advertising and the cost spent on salesforce will increase sales, but there are limits to
their impacts. Anantas consultants several years ago estimated the relationship between
advertising, cost of sales force, and sales. Converting that relationship to current conditions gives
the following formula:
=35\times 0.5(3,000+)+0.5(1,000+)
1.(12.5 points) In a separate worksheet called 1, build a spreadsheet model to calculate
the total profit for the problem assuming the values of $10,000 and $10,000 for
AdBudget and CostSalesForce, respectively.
2.(7.5 points) In a separate worksheet called 2, write a function in Excel Python to
calculate the total profit for the problem assuming the values of $10,000 and $10,000 for
AdBudget and CostSalesForce, respectively.
