As someone who works in the defense industry as a quality engineer, the two innovations I have experienced the most of would be the structure and process. Structure innovations in my company attract top talent in the field of operations - I am an example of it. My company offers a unique rotational program where I spend three years moving around the company in different jobs surrounding quality, production, and supply chain. Our competitors don't offer anything similar and it benefits my career because I get to see different areas of the company, work with people from all over the country, and develop my skills. I am nearing the end of my program and I see the company truly values this program and those who go through it. Process innovations are expected in most manufacturing firms like mine. As a quality engineer, we are always trying to improve the efficiency of the builds, lower costs, and develop the next big tech.
