As the Assistant HR Manager in your 11,000-member Golf Club, you have been given the task of reviewing the Staff Appraisal procedures; this is all a part of the upgrading of the HR department under the new HR Manager. The previous appraisal structure has been used for a good number of years but as the Club increases its activities, more members of staff have been employed. There is to be a re- structure of the management model which means there will be increased benefits to staff by way of improvement in their situation. Management upgrades and promotions will be made available for existing staff and so appraisals are essential. Performance Counselling services that will be needed and, 2. Problem solving techniques 3. Inform staff of expected standards 4. Ensure performance management is open and fair 5. Communicate with staff on performance and performance management issues 6. Provide recognition and rewards for achievements and outstanding performance 7. Identify the need for and organise training for staff improvement 8. Correctly record and file performance management records b) Structure a new appraisal form that will be used in the interviewing process c) Supply a timetable for when the appraisals will be conducted to suit staff rosters
