As the case points out, there are many differences in markets outside of the US. Having lived in seven different countries, on four continents, I have seen those differences first hand. While I do not pretend to know everything about the markets I've lived in, I do see that they can be extremely different.

As one example, in France, when you hire full time employees, you cannot simply lay them off when times get bad, like you can in the US (Sergon, 2022). In France there is far less protection for the company and far more protection for the employee.
