As the lecture asserts, and as the supplemental readings illustrate, gap analysis is an important tool for assessing, and thereby identifying means of improving, program or organizational performance. For the discussion, each student should investigate whether their own agency/organization has ever used any form of gap analysis as a performance assessment tool.

Or, alternatively, if that option is not available, then find some other real-world example of a gap analysis used in some setting related to public safety or emergency services (or some other similar domain).

Please short essay explaining why and how the selected gap analysis work was conducted as it was, and what it seems likely to have accomplished as a management tool. I.E. please explain (briefly) what program or emergency services domain was examined, what kinds of measures were used, what the basic findings were, and whether there was a plausible corrective action to ameliorate any identified gaps.
