As we proceed with cybertechnology research and development in the twenty-first century, continued technological convergence would seem to be inevitable. Few would reject most of the benefits and conveniences that have resulted from this phenomenon thus far - e.g., cell phones that take pictures, GPS technology in automobiles, etc. Yet, we have also noted some controversial implications that convergent technologies can have for individual freedom, autonomy, and privacy.
