As we will be manufacturing 1000 pieces we will use mass production. However, not everything about mass production is beneficial. Establishing an auto- mated assembly line is capital-intensive and requires a significant upfront investment of time and resources. If there is an error in the production design, an extensive investment of time and money may be necessary to redesign and rebuild mass production processes Human factors which could affect the performance of engineering process. Ethical principles: If an individual, team, or larger organization is seen to conduct themselves ethically with a strong sense of right or wrong, then they are perceived as trustworthy and reliable. Some of the qualities displayed by those considered to be acting ethically include: -Rigour: approaching each task or project in a thorough and careful manner. -Honesty: being truthful and straightforward in dealings with other people (and yourself). -Integrity: being able to recognize right from wrong and willing to do the right thing. -Respect: displaying regard for the feelings and opinions of others, valuing their contribution. -Responsibility: being accountable for your actions and, when things go wrong, willing to admit you were wrong and work to put things right. If a worker on plasma cutter cuts wrong size of part, he should report it to his manager rather then hide it and send it for the next process. (It is an example of honesty and integrity). If he will not report it, whole project could be delayed, company could loss money and also time over this. Human factors which could affect the performance of engineering process. There are both physical and mental limitations to the activities that can be undertaken by an individual or a team in a busy working environment. You must consider the following. -Stress: a sense of mental and emotional strain or anxiety that can be brought about by the demands and pressure of work. -Time pressure: having to complete tasks in a fixed time frame or at a defined rate. -Fatigue: physical or mental tiredness. -Memory: it is only possible to retain a limited number of facts and effectively process a limited amount of information at any one time. If worker internal thread, is under the stress or time pressure from his boss, he could make mistake in internal thread, and destroy tool or material. Human factors which could affect the performance of engineering process. Human factors affecting productivity: The productivity of any organization depends on the people carrying out the process. Their skill level, training, experience, enthusiasm and conscientious- ness all play a part. -Reliability: staff arriving on time, good attendance records, if not there could be pressure on other work colleagues. -Quality: In modern factories, quality assurance systems go well beyond the traditional quality control checks carried out at the end of the manufacturing process. All staff are expected to perform continual quality checks as they work to ensure that any problems they encounter or perhaps even cause are not passed on to subsequent stages without being addressed. This requires a certain level of trust that is cultivated in a team-oriented environment where allocatting blame is less important than addressing and solving problems together. It is vital that individuals are conscious of the importance of the quality of their own work and the work of their team and the potential effects on the wider organization. -Safety: Safe working practices also help to maintain productivity. Stoppages while incidents and accidents are investigated or damage repaired can be significant and have disastrous effect on productivity, so it is an employee's ethical duty to ensure that nothing harms their colleagues or equipment. If worker are not going to use right drilling movement speed in to material we could damage whole drill machine or hurt our self or other colleague. This is an example of safety human factor
