As you have studied your organizational problem and immersed yourself in related literature, you developed expertise that can help you implement evidence-based solutions. However, you may not have the authority to execute all the needed changes on your own, especially if they have a significant financial cost. If you ask your organization's board of directors for help, they may be able to support your efforts.

Board meetings frequently have packed agendas, as members of the board have a wide range of responsibilities. Therefore, you will need to prioritize brevity and clarity as you condense the work you have done into a report and presentation to solicit the board's support.

In previous modules, you completed Assignments related to this Final Project. Bringing all those Assignments into one document would create an extremely large document. However, when presenting information and recommendations to a board of directors, conciseness is key.

In this Final Project, you will prepare a succinct, informative, board report that explains your work with both your quality management question and your risk management question. In addition, you will prepare a PowerPoint presentation with slide narration that highlights the key points of the report.

TO PREPARE FOR THIS ASSIGNMENT:

• Review your previous work where you identified issues, searched literature, identified potential professional practice gaps, and appraised literature.

THE ASSIGNMENT: 3- TO 4-PAGE BOARD REPORT PLUS APPENDICES AND 6-SLIDE POWERPOINT PRESENTATION WITH NARRATION

PART 1: BOARD REPORT

In your board report, include the following information sections identified by a heading for each section:

• Introduction: A brief introduction including description of the type of HSO and the problem that was identified
• Quality Perspective: Specific information on the problem from a quality management perspective
• Risk Perspective: Specific information on the problem from a risk management perspective
• Recommendations: Recommendations to the board based on an analysis of the issue from a big picture, HSO perspective
• Appendix: Conclusions, justification, and support from the literature appraisal and other information

PART 2: PRESENTATION

Using your report, as well as the information from Discussions and Assignments in previous modules, prepare a narrated PowerPoint presentation for the board that includes the following:

• Title Slide
  • Select a presentation title that is appropriate and informs the board members about the purpose.
  • Include your name and the date.
  • In your narration, describe the purpose for the presentation.
• Introduction
  • Include the HSO type and a description of the problem that was identified.
  • In your narration, explain how you came to the problem and provide some supporting information.
• Quality
  • Describe the quality issues related to the problem.
  • In your narration, highlight the information you gleaned from the credible sources and your analysis of your HSO against the Six Domains of Health Care Quality.
• Risk
  • Describe the risk issues related to the problem.
  • In your narration, highlight the information you gleaned from the credible sources and your analysis of your HSO against the ERM Framework.
• Recommendations
  • Describe your recommendations.
  • In your narration, reference the evidence for your recommendations and explain how they will make a difference from a big picture perspective.
  • Based on your findings, what barriers and challenges exist for incorporating diversity, equity, and inclusion, if any?
• References
  • Provide properly formatted APA references for all articles used in the presentation.
  • No narration is needed on this slide.
