This is about 87.7 years for females and 81.5 years for males. The two countries are followed very closely by Macau, Switzerland, Singapore and Spain, all with very high life expectancies. One thing that demographers wonder is how much more remains. Is it likely that mortality rates will continue to fall, resulting in even higher levels of life expectancy than those attained by these countries?
