Information for students
In this task, you are required to demonstrate your skills and knowledge by working through a number of activities and completing and submitting a project portfolio comprising 4 sections.
You will need access to:
- a suitable place to complete activities that replicates a business environment including a meeting space and computer and internet access
- your learning resources and other information for reference
- Project Portfoliotemplate or any other resources / instructions from trainer
Ensure that you:
- review the advice to students regarding responding to written tasks in the Business Works Student User Guide
- comply with the due date for assessment which your assessor will provide
- adhere with your RTO's submission guidelines
- answer all questions completely and correctly
- submit work which is original and, where necessary, properly referenced
- submit a completed cover sheet with your work
- avoid sharing your answers with other students.
You are required to:
- Refer to the Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualification allocated and approved by trainer and provide information according to this project portfolio. This qualification can be the existing qualification you are studying or any other qualification deemed appropriate tor this assessment.
- Name of the VET qualification.
- Introduction and detailed background information of the qualification.
- Identify and describe the cohort of learners for this qualification (This cohort can be existing team members of your current study/course/qualification)
- Access current Training and Assessment Strategy (TAS) for the selected qualification.
- Note: Attach proof of the TAS to this section of your portfolio.
- Evaluate ways to improve learning practices:
- Review and identify existing and current learning practices as stipulated in the TAS.
- Collect information on the needs of learners using appropriate collection methods which include respective preferred learning styles, interest, abilities, experiences, relationships and contextual needs. (minimum 5 respondents)
- Note: Attach proof of the collection method (e.g. observation / survey / interview or focus group / etc.) to this section of your portfolio.
- Using the collected information from 2.2 above, tabulate and present using appropriate presentation format. (e.g. table / chart / diagram / etc.)
- Conduct research on appropriate learning theories and instructional design principles which can further improve learning practices for the qualification.
- Conduct research and evaluate the role and impact of new technologies on learners and training and learning practices.
- Propose and suggest appropriate advances in learning practices which reflects the qualification requirement for the selected qualification.
- Prepare and conduct presentation to relevant stakeholders (learners/peers/colleagues) of your proposed advanced learning practices.
- Note: Attach proof of presentation (PPTs and video)
- Manage and monitor improved learning practices
- Revise TAS to reflect your proposed advances in learning practices. You are to observe proper documentation version control and appropriate file naming procedure.
- Note: Attach proof of the revised TAS to this section of your portfolio.
- Plan and implement improved learning practices within identified cohort of learners
- Note: Attach proof of the implemented improved learning practices (e.g. videos / adapting or modified resources / new technologies, mediums or equipment / other resources / etc.)
- Collect feedback from cohort of learners after implementation of improved learning practices.
- Note: Attach proof of feedback collected (e.g. feedback form / survey / interview / others)
- Analyse and advocate for improved learning practices
- Suggest various strategies to advocate for improved learning practices amongst identified cohort of learners.
- Note: Attach proof of advocating strategies (e.g. email / notice / poster / banner / photos / video / others)
- Suggest various strategies to promote improved learning practices including mentoring and coaching methods
