For example, considering how best to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, those at risk of experiencing vulnerability and disadvantage, students with disabilities and gifted students. This assignment requires you to show a broad knowledge and understanding of ECEC and primary education legislative and policy requirements related to transition to ECEC and transition to school and appropriate teaching strategies that are inclusive and support all childrens participation. The Transition to School Plan will include a list and brief description of the main activities that an Early childhood teacher (or Grade Prep/Foundation teacher for BEd EY students) would carry out with children/students and their families to prepare and support them making the transition to school. The importance of providing timely and accurate information to all transition to school stakeholders, including parents should be considered. 1Part A: Rationale for Transition to School Plan (1000 words +10% maximum) In the rationale section of this assignment, you will need to explain the reasons for including certain activities in your Transition to School Plan. Focus on 1 main area E.g. respect for diversity, inclusive practices in transition, continuity of learning, forming partnerships in transition. Explain your timeline, develop a hypothetical (made-up) context, include resources that you might use, along with drawing from relevant scholarly literature to support your main points. The minimum references required for this assignment are 8 references including 6 scholarly publications (peer-reviewed journal articles or book chapters focusing on research) and at least 2 government reports/policy documents (e.g. Transition: A positive Start to School Resource Kit (DET 2017), National Quality Standard (ACECQA 2020). Part B: The Transition to School Plan (Equivalent to 1000 words, no penalty will be applied for the Transition Plan being below or over the word count).
